ADHD care that looks at the whole child

I offer holistic, non-pharmacologic support for children with attention and behavior concerns — screening for what looks like ADHD but isn’t, and building the sleep, nutrition, and activity foundation underneath it.

Sound familiar?

You’ve been here before.

  • Focus problems along with poor sleep, snoring, or restlessness
  • Big afternoon crashes and mood swings
  • Medication that works but comes with side effects you’re uneasy about
  • Nobody has checked anything beyond a rating scale
What’s often underneath

Focus is affected by more than the brain alone.

Trouble breathing well at night

Enlarged tonsils and mouth breathing can produce a picture that looks almost identical to ADHD. This gets missed constantly.

Low iron stores

Iron levels below optimal are repeatedly linked to more severe ADHD symptoms — and they’re rarely measured.

Omega-3 levels

Modest but real evidence for benefit, and an easy thing to check and correct.

Blood sugar swings

Erratic energy and mood often track closely with what breakfast looked like — or whether there was one.

The gut-brain connection

Digestive symptoms and behavioral symptoms travel together more often than coincidence would explain.

Sleep quality overall

Poor sleep can look a great deal like inattention during the day, independent of any breathing issue.

How I work on it

Find the driver. Then treat it.

A board-certified pediatrician with the time to look properly — working alongside your child’s prescriber, therapist, and school team, not replacing them.

  • 1Screen for the look-alikes first — sleep, iron, thyroid, hearing, and learning differences.
  • 2Targeted labs that actually inform a plan, not a blanket panel.
  • 3Nutrition and sleep as first-line steps, not an afterthought.
  • 4Supplement recommendations graded by real evidence, with honest expectations set up front.
  • 5Ongoing coordination with your child’s prescriber, therapist, and school team.
Often connected

Focus and development concerns often overlap.

Sleep, nutrition, and gut health show up across attention, mood, and developmental concerns alike.

A note on scope: my role is holistic and non-pharmacologic — screening for look-alikes, and supporting sleep, nutrition, and activity. I don’t prescribe or manage stimulant medication. That stays with your child’s prescriber, and I work alongside them.
